BATHROOM VANITY/LAUNDRY UNIT
BRIEF
The requirement of the customer was to utilize an
area within their bathroom (approximately 0.3 metres
by 1 metre) where they can wash themselves, provide
storage space AND do their laundry
REQUIREMENT
bathroom vanity\laundry unit incorporating a
counter\sink unit. An integrated cupboard with the
dual purpose of providing both additional storage
space and the concealment of hot\cold water supply
& drainage to the bathroom sink and integrated
automatic washing machine
PROBLEMS TO BE OVERCOME
The standard dimensions of both the washing
machine and bathroom sink are well over the
footprint dimensions of the proposed unit.
To
overcome the sink problem, a porcelain unit of
reduced depth was obtained that sits on top of the
counter instead of being sunk into a hole cut into
the counter top.
Washing machineS of reduced depth (30mm) are
now readily available, conforming to
the limited dimensions of the proposed unit.
